Backed by EU values

Sustainability weaves through every layer of our business: from design and manufacture, the suppliers we choose, right down to our ethos. We’re lucky that our principles are underpinned by EU values, and we back any initiatives that support a more sustainable world.

STI’s corporate responsibility

As a family-founded business, corporate social responsibility runs through the veins of our parent group. In fact, in 2008 STI became the first company in the corrugated cardboard industry to FSC-certify its German production plants... and we’ve followed their lead ever since.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) confirms that wood comes from sustainably managed forests with appropriate ecological, social, and economic credentials. In 2008, STI was the first company in the corrugated cardboard industry to FSC-certify its German production plants.

The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC) promotes forest preservation and ecological balance. Many of our raw materials bear this mark.

STI Group supports the Paris Climate Agreement’s 1.5° target to reduce and ultimately eliminate CO2 emissions. In 2023, the group joined the Science Based Targets Initiative and developed a roadmap to an emission-free business based on their criteria.

In 2022, STI Group began collaborating with external partner Nature Office to reduce CO2 emissions and fulfil EU climate targets.

We can determine the product carbon footprint (PCF) of any packaging or displays we produce, using a CO₂ calculation tool from ClimatePartner.

What this means for you

Sustainability is no longer a ‘nice-to-have,’ in this environmentally-conscious world, it’s a must-have. STI Group knew this back in 2008 when they became FSC-certified. We've both been setting new standards, and trailblazing new initiatives ever since.

But… we’re also realistic. We know, by the nature of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), sustainablility can be an afterthought, something that “should’ve been done yesterday.” And we understand why, when you have multiple targets to hit, projects on your plate, it can fall down your list of priorities.

So that's why we want you to know:

For us, this is not a tick-box exercise. It's part of our ethos, our mission, and the very fabric of our business.

Our work will help you implement new initiatives, hit your targets, and see that sustainability can be simple and successful when you use good materials in innovative ways. We’ll literally take care of it so you don’t have to.

Together we can create a brighter, equitable, and more sustainable world. We’d love to have you with us.
